Over the past year, I’ve had the honor of working with Dr. Gundry’s team to photograph every single recipe from his books that didn’t already have a picture — and I’m nearly there! A few are still in progress as I write this, but today felt like the perfect time to share my top 11 favorites so far.
Why today? Because it’s July 11th — Dr. Gundry’s 75th birthday and National Polyphenol Day. A fitting day to celebrate someone who’s had such a profound impact on my life.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know I’ve been a devoted fan of Dr. G ever since I read The Plant Paradox eight summers ago. To say that book changed my life would be an understatement. It was one of those pivotal moments — like a switch flipped — and everything took a new direction. I changed my diet and lifestyle, and what followed was an incredible journey of self-discovery. I started a food Instagram, then a website, graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, wrote two cookbooks (affiliate link), and grew into a food photographer, content creator, and health coach — all under the umbrella of an online business based in the United States.
Even after years of navigating the often polarizing world of nutrition and wellness, I still consider Dr. Gundry a grounded, evolving, and trustworthy voice. He brings forward the latest in health science while remaining unafraid to revise his own earlier views — a rare and admirable quality.
So thank you, Dr. Gundry, for the inspiration, the science, and your unwavering dedication to helping us thrive. Happy 75th birthday!
Now — on to the fun part: my favorite Gundry recipes. Below you’ll find the recipe name, the book it’s from, the photography I created, and a link to the full recipe (and more photos) shared on Dr. Gundry’s Instagram. His team posts new recipes every Friday, so keep an eye out for fresh weekly inspiration!
